In the ongoing effort to keep you informed of fun chess related events, there are two great opportunities happening in Homer, Alaska. These two events are not Alaska Arctic Chess Club events, and I do not believe that they are USCF rated events, but they are over the board chess tournaments, so I wanted to make sure you saw these:

December 7, 2024
9:30 am – 9:45 am
Where
295 E Pioneer Ave, Homer, AK, 99603
Homer will host an adult Swiss tournament on December 7th at Captain’s Coffee. Registration is $5 and runs from 9:30 to 9:45. There will be 5 rounds with a 20 minute clock.

December 13, 2024
12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

995 Soundview Ave, Homer, AK, 99603
Homer will host a children’s chess tournament for grades 3 through 8 at the West Homer Elementary School on the afternoon of December 13th, using a 10 minute clock.
