The Alaska Arctic Chess Club will be hosting a four round Swiss chess tournament at the North Pole Public Library on November 21st, 2026 from 11 AM until 5 PM. This will be in the Multi-purpose room, and will be open for up to 30 players. This is a rated event and will require a current US Chess membership and ID.

And... Great news! The ACF has started the 2027 ACF Grand Prix, and this event will be the first event to kick off the season! An ACF membership is not required to play in this tournament, but is encouraged, as ACF members will gain ACF Grand Prix points for playing in this event! If you would like to obtain or renew an ACF membership, head over to https://www.alaskachessfederation.org/  for more details! (This is not a US Chess Grand Prix event.)

Games will be G/25;d/5, dual rated time control.

2:00 Round 3 starts

3:10 Round 4 starts

Last Saturday and Sunday we had over 90 players assemble for the Alaska State Championship in Anchorage Alaska! With over 250 games in three sections, it was a huge success! The Alaska Arctic Chess Club was represented as the Assistant Chief Tournament Director for the event, under Fairbanks Community Chess Club's Jeremiah Youmans as the Chief Tournament Director. The Alaska Chess Federation also supplied two relief tournament directors and did all the work of organizing and running the event. You can check out the rating reports online at:

The Alaska Arctic Chess Club held a four round swiss on September 5th! It was a really fun event with a four way tie for first place going into the last round, which ended with a two way tie for first! We had to resort to tie breaks to get the final results, so congratulations to Liam for securing the win!
