In the latest States Affiliate Committee report from US Chess (USCF), they have accepted the Alaska Chess Federation’s request to become the Alaska state chapter!

That means the ACF will be brought forward and recommended for acceptance as the Alaska state chapter to the delegates during the annual meeting in July. For those wondering, this is incredibly good news, because it means that the ACF will officially be able to grant US Chess recognized titles, such as state champion, woman’s state champion, senior state champion, and similar titles!
It has been a long road, but a good one thanks to the officers and board members of the Alaska Chess Federation. If you have not become a member yet, now is a really good time to do so!
