Might seem like an odd announcement today, but seeing that it is only an 11 hour drive from Fairbanks (14 hours from Anchorage), I thought I’d mention that there is a FIDE tournament taking place in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada on August 9th, 2025. It is not often that Alaskans are so close to a FIDE rated event, and if you are interested, this is a great time to get your feet wet, so to speak!
